 Shanghaied (Apr 12)

Info from their promo material: Theatre Calgary's Fundraiser Party including drinks, provocative performances, finger foods, fortune-tellers and dancing. Shanghai was known as "The Paris of the East" in the 1930s. Great leaps in arts, culture, design and architecture came to fruition at the same time as opium, prostitution and gambling were running rampant. A powerful foreign minority descended on the city to take advantage of its openness and exploit its darker side... Dig out your fishnets and fedoras and get Shanghaied!

EVENT NAME: Shanhaied 

ORGANIZATION: Theatre Junction Fundraising Party 

DATE: April 12, 2008 

TIME: Event starts 8 and runs til 1 a.m. Some may have to start before than to help set-up and some may be needed to stay a bit for clean up.

 LOCATION: Downtown - C-train accessible.

ATTIRE: Because Shanghaied is a themed party, volunteers are encouraged to dress up in costume or in formal/party wear in order to help create the mood and atmosphere of 1930’s Shanghai. This is a great opportunity to be creative and drag those fishnets and fedoras out of the closet! Not sure what to wear
– Ask or google it!
