Bell Walk for Kids
May 1, 2005
Hi Adele,
On behalf of the Walk committee, I just wanted to thank SVC for
providing such hardworking volunteers on Sunday, May 1st for the Bell
Walk for Kids Help Phone. The volunteers were unbelievable, working
hard with smiles on their faces, and seemed to enjoy being there. We
raised over $225,000 in Calgary alone, and over $2,100,000 across
Canada for the Kids Help Phone agency, and could not have done it
without our volunteers. For that, we thank SVC and your volunteers.
Someone will be getting in touch with you again regarding the Volunteer
Appreciation, as well as sending thank you letters.
Again, thank you!

Used Book Sale
April 9 & 10, 2005
Hi Adele
I was away last week directly after Skate a Kid, but wanted to make
sure that I sent out one big last thanks to your incredible group of
volunteers this year!
This year’s event ran more smoothly than any year before, and
I like to think that a big part of that is because of the great
dedicated group that Single Volunteers of Calgary provides us with!
This year’s event raised over $63,000 for Camp Bonaventure, a
new record!
Please pass on our sincere thanks to all of the volunteers from your
agency that helped us make the event such a huge success!
THANK
YOU!!!!

Hi Adele,
The BBQ was a success, thanks to your great people. Things went well at
the
130th location, we could have managed with about 8 people, I believe
that is
how many were there for the morning shift. We do thank you for your
help.
I just heard that the cross country BBQ brought in $1,350,000.00, what
a
boost for CCFC in our search for the Cure. The location at 130th did
bring in
$1490.00, that was down about $100.00 from last year. (I do believe the
weather played a big part in out drop, last year was a very warm day.)
THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
Maybe we will get to meet more of you good people next year, they are
very
friendly and easy to work with.
Take care,

Arthritis Society - Sausage Fest
November 15, 2003
Hi Adele How are you?
I can't say enough about your volunteers for the sausage fest, this
dinner was only successful in part of your singles volunteers, they
didn't wait for the leaves to drop, they dove, with their tireless
effort we raised 3700.00.
for the ALBERTA ARTHRITIS SOCIETY.
I have been doing charity dinners for 9 years and I've never seen drive
that would lap the rest.

Habitat
for Humanity
June 2001
Hello Single Volunteers
Society of Calgary!
I am one of the very lucky people that has been given the opportunity
of
a lifetime (for me, anyway) to purchase a home built by Habitat for
Humanity and its many volunteers. It was a pleasure to meet and work
with the team of single volunteers at the Habitat build site in Ogden,
Calgary on Saturday June 2, 2001. Thank you all for your hard work and
support!

Habitat

December 2000
Dear Cameron:
On behalf of the Board of Directors, myself, and especially the
families who
will soon be occupying a new Habitat home, thank you. The support of
your
group in the construction of our six homes has provided a substantial
contribution toward our goal for the year 2000.
Your dedication of time and effort makes these homes possible. You have
all
assisted Habitat to fulfill its commitment to build homes with
low-income
families who would not otherwise be able to afford the cash payments
necessary
for the purchase of a home.
Another Habitat ‘hand up-not a hand out’ will soon
be realized.
Up to the end of 1999 Habitat volunteers in Calgary had built 22 homes,
housing 79 children. Habitat worldwide, this year, achieved the
completion of
100,000 homes. You have had a role in reaching our dream of some day
eliminating poverty housing. Habitat's plan for the year 2001 consists
of
building another four homes and we look forward to your continuing
help.
Again, thank you to you and your group as another family's dream come
closer
to reality.
Best wishes for a peaceful and safe holiday season.
